Live at the Hideaway highly recommended!

David Wiseman has been one of my favorite songwriters for several years now. I especially like his clever use of cultural allusions in many of his songs. Such allusions reinforce meaning without becoming cliche. Whether he is writing about important social issues (as in "Sam Stone Day" or "Sit Down, Mrs. Brown") or wanderlust (as in "Missouri River Runner" or "Water in Missoula") all on this album his approach is fresh and interesting, both lyrically and musically.

I love David Wiseman ‘s music. He has a unique style and a creative way of delivering his messages that I absolutely adore. We hosted him at our home for a house concert and it was one of the best events of the year for us. I highly encourage you to check out his music and share it with your friends. I promise it will be worth your time and money.

RAPID RIVER MAGAZINE

Burnsville resident, David Wiseman, is a throwback in all the best ways. He is the sort of troubadour who a century ago would have traveled the winding roads of Western North Carolina for a place to set his feet and sing his songs...Wiseman relishes in making the everyday seem extraordinary and the personal collective.****

Love David's music! This is what folk sounds like. This is what *folk* sound like. We're past due for a singer/songwriter with a smart political bent. David does it so well. Love his gruff voice, and love his lyrics. He's in heavy rotation on my pod!

He can write, he can sing and he can play.

These songs are just a good taste of what this talented artist can create. If you have a little of the "60's" in your soul you will love David's songs.

four star review
"Wiseman is poignantly macabre, capturing the essence of the heart and mind of people living a hardscrabble life often in the shadow of opulence."
