Birthdays

Friends have birthdays. I've enjoyed a few, close to all of them, but that's for later, maybe. The point about friends and family having birthdays, is the wonderful start of another  584,000,000 mile journey around Sol. Zooming around the Sun while traveling 66,616 miles per hour and spinning at 1,000 miles an hour. Of course that's cause for celebration!

Yeah hey, Earth and Sun are both flying through our galaxy at 43,000 mph hurtling toward the bright star Vega which is part of the Lyra constellation, comforting, eh? Enough of that, eh? What has that got to do with the picture? I'll tell you.

A few years back, I was providing sound and PA support for a performer. If you know me, you'll know that he is one of my favorites. After his performance, he reaches in his pocket then from his closed hand, dropped this train engine into my hand. "I want you to have this," he says. It has ridden on my dashboard of at least five vehicles and everywhere I traveled. I use it to remind me to keep headed the right direction. In the last couple of years, it seems to have become more effective.

If you're on Facebook, stop by and wish Malcolm Holcombe a Happy Birthday! Also, enjoy one yourself, next chance you get. Happy Birthday, Malcolm Holcombe! And enjoy this, Friends.  Malcolm Holcombe - Drink the Rain
