Boxing Day, Eh!

Here's that day that we've waited for throughout the past year, and it's finally here and nobody knows what to do with it! That grand Canadian holiday, Boxing Day! December 26th, the day after we celebrate commercial exploitation and capitalism, the Canadians celebrate Boxing Day.

There is nothing comparable to proper motivation to create an excuse for another day off. I like the idea of a shopping holiday...no shopping today. Boxing Day is also a Bank holiday in Canada. This is so the bankers can count all the money they made during the celebration of commercial exploitation and capitalism.

Here's something I found in The Old Farmer's Almanac.  George Washington, et al. crossed the Delaware to attack the Hessian army at Trenton, New Jersey on December 26th, 1776. The original plan was to attack on Christmas Day, but the Continental Army  Commander wasted too much time posing for historic paintings. They even stopped in the middle of the river to paint another historic painting.
