Can You Play That Thing?

It’s been a few years since I’ve built an instrument. I have enough pieces cut already to assemble one or two. I make dulcimer kits, then I put them together.

Here’s one that I made sometime last decade. Through twists and turns of circumstance, I own this one again. It has a maple top and headstock and walnut back and sides (bent, not cut) and six strings. It was one of my favorites when I built it. It is again.

I built this one using a pocket knife and a 2" square of sandpaper. That makes a great story, but I used a shipload of other tools also.

Do you remember?

Always so good hearing your

Dear sweet melodies.

Peace, Y'all!
