d2 to d4

Are d2 to d4 chess notations? Yes! I'm not sure I'd know what to do with them if I had them. Notions, notations, whatever.

Where do I go from here? I'll ask often enough to not be surprised by the answer. Sometimes tho', one gets by.

Pawns. They're sent. They go, or they stay and defend. The insurgents are expected to attack! Open pathways for other attackers. Capture their opponents' pawns and Bishops, Rooks and Knights. Capture the Queen if they can.

And should there be strategy, fortune, and stealth in his favor, and should he reach the farthest side of the board, he's granted promotion to the rank of his choice. Most choose a Queen, the most powerful piece on the board. Few players choose a Knight because, "Once a Queen, always a Queen. Once a knight is enough."

Bishop takes Rook. "Check."

"Check?" "Check!" "Heck. That's Checkmate, Mate."

"Mate Mate?" "Mate." "Well, heck."

Peace, Y'all!
