Flying Goalies

The Buffalo Sabres had lost 18 games straight. Wednesday night, they won 6-1 against the Philadelphia Flyers. I watched the game and pulled for the Sabres. During this 18-game skid, the Sabres lost something else. Eric Staal now plays for the Montréal Canadiens. Go Habs!

Wednesday night’s game was a good game for Buffalo. Steven Fogarty scored his first goal of the season. I was watching him playing in front of the goalie. Fogarty dropped his stick. He looks around to see if he has a chance to pick up his stick. As Steven Fogarty picks up his stick, the puck is right there in front of him and the goalie’s (Brian Elliott) right side is wide open. The Sabres were destined to win. That was the third goal against the Flyers.

After Casey Mittelstadt scored the fourth goal, the Flyer’s coach, Alain Vigneault, yelled to his goalie, “Look out, Brian, that one almost hit you.” Alex Lyon came in to finish the job.

This was familiar territory for Brian Elliott. He was pulled after five goals against him came in the game on March 17 in a 9-0 loss to the New York Rangers. Carter Hart finished that mess.

Beachballs everywhere!

Hand me my shotgun. Look out!

There comes another.

Peace, Y'all!
