H20 You Doing?"

What are you doing? What am I doing?

Why am I here?

Blog no. 284

Several years ago, I attended Steve Earle’s Camp Copperhead, which was a week-long songwriting workshop. One of the challenges was to write a Haiku a day for a year. The first year, most of them I wrote in my morning pages. I published a few of them on Facebook. That was a start.

Last June 30th, I started another year’s worth. These I began publishing as da6d Daily Ramblin’s. There is not much at all that I won’t write about. You know that already. Everything is worth writing about; I have to find that worth.

I wrote a few Ramblin's before I committed to writing and publishing a year’s worth of Haiku. Here we are, number 284. They started out with just a brief narrative, then the Haiku. Since then, I have written tall tales and short stories. I have stretched truths to the snapping point just to see if they’ll snap back and look anything like what I started with.

I had hoped to see some steady increase in the number of readers. Anticipating that has been a big part of the motivation to keep writing. That hasn’t happened yet, but I’ll keep writing until June 30th.

Three hundred sixty-five days

A year-long challenge

Peace, Y’all!
