Scotch Tape

Yes, every year, Christmas Eve, I usually end up wrapping a few small things for Kari. Every year I say, "Sometime before next Christmas, I need to buy a roll of scotch tape."

Here I am, Christmas Eve, tearing off smaller and smaller pieces of scotch tape because I've been using the same roll for the past three years. Sometime before next Christmas, I need to buy a roll of scotch tape.

Back before 24/7 Wal~Mart, Roses, CVS, grocery or any gas station, if you didn't have it by Christmas Eve, you would do without it until after Christmas. This is particularly true of scotch tape. That's why Grandma was always saying to me, "Don't you be wasting with that scotch tape. That's all we have." Now I understand. We'd been using that same roll of scotch tape for the past three years.

One year for Christmas, I found one of those 12 roll packs of scotch tape. That was one of my gifts to Grandma. I'll never forget what she said. "Well, I don't guess I'll need to buy tape for a while."

The next Christmas Eve, Grandma said to me, "Don't you be wasting with that scotch tape now. That's all we have." I love family traditions.

Happy Holidays,

Merry Christmas, Chanukah

Kwanza, Festivus ...

I hope I got them all.

Peace, Y'all
