I'll Take the Lead

it's usually pretty late at night by the time I get these thoughts down. It's often the next day by the time you read them. Does that have anything to do with anything?? Probably not.

These da6d Daily Ramblin's used to come from my Morning Pages. I wrote three pages, longhand every morning...late morning/early afternoon/evening. They have evolved to these Midnight Ramblin's. Midnight sort of suits me better, wouldn't you think?

It's no longer three pages longhand either. I probably write that much just on sticky notes; they're everywhere. I do keep a word document open on my computer.

That became super convenient once I got used to it. My natural impulse is to reach for a pencil. I'm still trying to break that habit. One way is to remind myself, "Hey, that's my good drawing pencil." My good drawing pencil is a very pointed carpenter's pencil.

Person One: Hey Siri, take a note, "The best musical lyric I've ever thought of..."

Siri: What would you like to do?

Person One: Take a note, Siri, "The best musical lyric I've ever thought of..."

Siri: What would you like the note to say?

Person One: I would like to note to say, "The best musical lyric I've ever thought of..."

Siri: You will need to unlock your device first.

Person One: Uh...

The part of Person One was played by da6d Wiseman.

Pencil and paper make me think, "Oh hey there, little sprout. I remember you. You grew up next to me in the forest. Look at you now, all grown up into a full size No. 2 pencil. Go ahead, make your mark. I can take it!"

My pencil, Siri?

Chisel, hammer and tablet

So much easier.

Peace, Y'all!
