The Band

I don't think that I have ever introduced the band, have I?

Harp players are a very weird sort. It's all about microphones, reeds, combs, amps, ceramic diaphragms, tone, tone, and most importantly, tone....do you see what I mean? I love to hear them talk.

One time, in particular, my wife looked at me like I was a phool (pronounced "fool"). I had referred to a harmonica as a "Mississippi Saxophone." I'll never forget what she said. She said, "Huh?" She hadn't seen the movie.

The line "Here's some Mississippi Saxophone" found its way right into the middle of one of my songs. Here's Missouri River Runner from my CD, Live at The Hideaway.

The picture? They are three of the Seven Sisters. These are the three that I would need for almost any performance.

One of them is my favorite, but I also tell that to the other two.

You don't play no harp

You know, down where I come from

You don't get lucky!

Peace, Y'all!
