No Loitering Without Permission

March 8th, a decade ago, Kari Weaver and her two partners were buying the One Of A Kind Art Gallery, Micaville, NC. They were closed, but I knocked on the door and asked if I could hang out on their porch and wait for a ride. “No problem. Don’t break anything.”

I was hitchhiking US Highway 19E and NC Highway 80 in western NC. At the intersection of these two busy roads, I took a photograph of my guitar case and backpack against a metal sculpted “Zimmy Dragon” outside One Of A Kind Art Gallery, Micaville, NC. The story begins.

I posted the picture on Facebook. A few days later, I get a FB message from Kari Weaver asking if the Gallery could use my photograph. “No problem,” I said. “Don’t break anything.”

Somehow, that day brought the prints of my feet across someone else’s path. A year later, on February 29th, Kari asked me to marry her. I did. I’d do it again.

Happy "Path Crossing Day," Kari!

“Will you marry me?”

No problem, just remember,

Don’t break anything.

Peace, Y'all!
