Big secret there, eh? Well, since the world turned upside down everything has changed, modified, died, was invented, reinvented, redesigned...blah, blah, blah. It's September. NHL hockey season would normally be holding training camp, exhibition games and the season would start the first week in October.
That may happen just like that, but right now the NHL is playing the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Dallas Stars are going to the finals from the Western Conference. They beat the Vegas Golden Knights in overtime of Game 5, best of seven. The New York Islanders vs Tampa Bay Lightning play Game 6 on Thursday. Tampa Bay leads the series 3-2. Game 7 will be Saturday if necessary. All in pursuit of Lord Stanley's Cup.
Okay, who's left reading this? I can bet my wife didn't get past the first syllable before running and screaming. But, there's a point to this. The picture? Yep, that's Clawz. Pawz was the other mascot for the Winston-Salem Polar Twins 2004-05 season. Claws was my 2nd stint as a hockey mascot. My first was "Thunder" for the Winston-Salem Thunderbirds, 2003-04.
