Red Eye, Please

Coffee, black. The way it was meant to be. Coffees have a flavor without cream or sugary flavored syrups. I’m not a coffee snob by any means. Often enough, I’ll have a splash of 2% milk to cool my coffee and a tbsp of sugar since I’ve already ruined a good cup o’ joe.

In one of my VA groups, one Army veteran referred to coffee as “lifer juice.” I hadn’t heard that term in years. Lifer juice. Hot and black, in a dirty cup, and measured by the yard.

I saw a bumper sticker that proclaimed, "Friends don’t let friends drink Starbucks®." I don’t care one way or the other. Learning to speak another language just to order a coffee is much. Almost too much. Grande (16oz), Venti (20oz), Trenta (31oz) … that’s just the sizes and there are just as many more.

I have enough trouble ordering "a shot-in-the-dark." Espresso shot, dark roasted coffee. Double, please. If that fails, "a red eye" is an alternative moniker. Sometimes that works. Don't forget to say please.

You don’t have to google How to Order at Starbucks Like a Regular. I already did and here’s the link.

One large coffee, please

“I’m sorry. We don’t have large.”

Do you have coffee?

Gotta love Starbucks®, don’t you? “Do you have coffee? Put some of it in a really big cup with my name written on it, please.” Kindness helps.

Leave a comment with your favorite Starbucks® order. Please.

Peace, Y’all!
