Da Dit Da Dit, Da Da Dit Da

Morse code, anyone?

I never did learn enough to be proficient at it, much less get my Ham Radio Operator's License. Gee, my Dad did, back in the late '70s. My brother passed the exam for No-Code Tech several years later. So why am I writing about Morse code and Ham Licenses when I know so little to nothing about the subject? I usually don't let details like that bother me.

Several years ago, I was having a conversation on Messenger with Kari. We'd just met and were talking, getting acquainted. I sent her a message, "-.-.  --.-" and she was intrigued enough to google Morse code and translate those "das and dits" to the letters C and Q. Ham operators using Morse code will initiate random conversations by transmitting a kind of short-hand,  "C Q, C Q, DE callsign." This means, "seek you, seek you. this is 'call sign.'"

Kari thought that was adorable, masterfully funny, and that's why she married me. She may have a different story, but this is mine. All that "Da Dit Da Dit, Da Da Dit Da," that's the chorus to a song I'm working on, "Seek You."

Three dashes two dots.

Three dashes, two dots, again.

Eighty-eight, (hugs, too.)

Peace, Y'all!
