Gas and gears and rubber on the road. Now booking Spring/Summer 2021.
This time last year, I was busy. I had finished recording I Ain't Stayin'. We had a cover design, insert booklet layout, and a budget planned. We were working on promotion, touring, signings, Grammy acceptance speeches, all that stuff.
I had gone to the FAI (Folk Alliance International) last February in New Orleans. I took a few dozen hot and fresh "Promotional" CDs with me to distribute. My subsequent tour took me through GA, FL, then back home in early February. Even then there was much left to do for an early Spring CD release.
The release happened during the beginning of COVID, on April 1st - a Facebook Live COVID -19 CD Release.
"We" includes my Dearest Kari and Charlie Stewart of Handshake Management in Austin, TX. Also on the team was Anna Barlow of Barlow Designs from Raleigh, NC. Anna did the layout and design of the 4-panel CD cover and the 16-panel booklet with printed lyrics. anna k barlow
Nancy K. Dillon of Rose Rock Music, Seattle WA, designed the one-sheet and distributed 150 copies to various radio stations and DJs. What a fantastic job she does.
These Folks, along with my Mom and my First Grade teacher, and YOU, are the ones I would have thanked at the Grammy's. Sorry it didn't work out like that. I have said that I will claim a Mulligan on my CD Release.
